now that we're all locked up, I feel like I can finally post pictures of our little house. we're in the process of selling her right now. I feel like a little bit of a crazy person considering the amount of emotion I feel over leaving a structure. but it's not just a structure to me. it's our first home. it's where we learned how to be a family. it's where mack came home after being born. it's where he learned to talk, crawl, and walk. it's where I learned to be a mommy. and dj learned to be a daddy. it represents hours and hours of work, upkeep, day dreaming over design possibilities, and sacrifice. I watched as those designs took shape, and even though it isn't a mansion worth millions of dollars, it's special to me. so, I feel as though each person we show the house to I need to ask, "what are your intentions with my baby?" I know, I know, I'm a crazy person. don't worry, I haven't actually asked anyone (yet), and I've been able to keep the tears at bay for now.
so, do you know of anyone who will take good care of our baby? and happens to be moving to pittsburgh? maybe I can convince YOU to move here... I think you'd like it. :)
here's a little teaser of what you'll find here. who uses blogs to sell houses, you ask? well, apparently I do. so, check it out. she's our baby. you'll like her.

yesterday, while I was driving out of PA, I drove by our house to see if Claire remembered which one it was. And she totally did. And then as we were driving down the street, we drove past the road that takes us to the Derricks and Claire said, hey that's the way to Keegan's house. and it made me cry. It was such a happy little life we lived on Dunster and it made me cry to think of all the people, memories, and moments that made up our life there. So I understand how you feel about your house. it is such a big part of your life that is about to turn into only memories as you move on to the rest of your life. Good luck with selling your house.
You've done such a great job with the house. It really looks beautiful. Good luck!
Black white and red house? adorable! I love it. I smiled when I saw the elephant mobile, I forgot all about that...
I think that using a blog to sell your home is innovative, maybe in the way Obama using Facebook was innovative (??). Embrace it--I think its clever because you've obviously taken the time to do it well and not haphazardly or half-heartedly.
I hope your house finds a good home :)
So what are the plans for your family once things start going through??
cute little house! Good luck.
I love your home, and your sentiments about leaving it. So sweet.
nice job libs... i'm so happy we got to come stay with you in your first home! and it made me realize how different our dental school experiences were! (from a stay-at-home-mom view)
oh AND... we're coming to mesa in may! when will you guys be there?
4 years and a lifetime of memories. When I took the final walk through of good 'ole Fairland... I cried so bad! Thinking about the memories that happened in each room. Then driving away... heart wrenching. I can totally relate to all your feelings. But new and exciting things are just around the corner. And I'm sure, like us, you won't look back :)
CUTE! I love the exterior it's so charming. WOW and super green! I love that piano room you have done awesome!
I felt the same way about our house! Even though there were so many inconvenient things about such an old pittsburgh house, it was where we became a family. Looking through the house blog, I forgot how AWESOME your house was for a Pittsburgh home!! I would miss that house too. Good luck selling it! People will love it!
Boo hoo, I miss pittsburgh!!!!
So, do you wanna come make my house look that awesome? 'Cause I need some SERIOUS help!
So many memories there... you will always remember your home on Provost. Good luck with all the craziness of selling... hope your baby goes to a good family...
