Project 365

Call me a follower, it's probably true, but I have decided to join in on the Picture a Day fun. One of my goals for this year is to improve my picture taking skills (I won't call it photography yet, because I don't think I'm at all artsy enough to call anything I do photography). I know I'm really late - 16 days to be exact - but the idea has been making the wheels in my head turn, and as you may know, I love to be inspired. Now, I thought about creating a new blog for this project, but I would like to keep everything in one place. So, I'm sorry if you get bored with the posts, but aren't pictures the only reason people look at my boring blog anyway?? So, here are the disclaimers:
  • I definitely won't do this daily. I just know myself too well; but, I do want to have a picture for every day. Hopefully I can keep up with it.
  • The pictures won't always be for the specific day listed. It's just a picture a day, not a picture for that particular day. I think that may defy the purpose of documenting every day, but for me, this is two fold: improve photography and document more every day happenings.
  • My best subject is my not-so-patient 11 week old son. So, you'll probably see lots of him. Sorry about that.
  • Lastly, I'm very well aware that my pictures aren't great. That's the whole point of this project. Thanks for bearing with me. :)
So, I'm going to start by playing catch up as I'm obviously way behind.

January 1st
My brother: photographer extraordinaire, newly discovered amateur cook, political activist, and critic of all things film. He patiently took me, my sister-in-law, and my mom on a photo outing. This is him. This picture is me trying to be artistic. Don't laugh.

January 2nd

Melinda: Mother Teresa. This is her self-portrait. Don't worry, there weren't any trains.

January 3rd

Mack's first haircut. It was badly needed. He is mullet-man no longer.

January 4th
The before.

The after.

January 5th
Once again, El Stevo.

January 6th
More photo outing...

January 7th
Melinda and Aaron outside Mel's dad's mill. He graciously let my family invade it to take family pictures. I hope he didn't regret it in the end...

January 8th
Mack's pediatrician. January 8th were Mack's first shots. It was torture, pure and simple. Ugh. As you can see, Mack was at work with his usual charms.

January 9th
Mack and Daddy waiting for the doctor.

January 10th
The little man.

January 11th
Grandpatty and a happy Abby.

January 12th
Grandpappy and an unhappy Abby.

January 13th
Bekah being photographed by uncle Stevie.

January 14th
Bekah being photographed by me... isn't she photogenic?

January 15th

Girl's night. Elise made a cute clip for Oakley (yet to be born).

January16th
It's cold outside. It was -7 today with a windchill of -20. DJ, Mack and I are hanging out inside with our hoodies on, and the hot chocolate steaming.

What kind of camera are you using? Your photos look really good! It's amazing what a good camera will do for your photos! I wanted to do a photo-per-day thing too, but I got way too behind. So, I just have a photoblog (sepiatonelovin12.blogspot.com) that I update periodically. Photography is wonderful, especially in the fall, so good luck!:)

That is such a fun project but I know I would never be able to stay on top of that if I tried. I'm impressed you're taking on the challenge!
I LOVE the pic of Mack with the pediatrician. Adorable! Also, that last one of him with his hoodie on is priceless.

I don't know whether to be flattered of upset for being in your pictures so often! Oh so cute picture of me and Aaron...I'm going to steel it from your blog. I love my "pig portrait" (not really), yikes. Next time we go photoing it looks like we need to get a few more pics with you in them so you won't have to post so many with me. You are a much better subject. :)
