the nursery revealed...

we're back. I mean, kind of. I guess I should say we're coming back. slowly.
I'm so excited to FINALLY share the nursery with you.   this project was the perfect escape from the dreariness of pregnancy.  I put my heart and soul into grey's room, and it has become my favorite place in the house.  nearly everything in the room is handmade, thrifted, or handed down from older brother.  read on for specifics.

the bedding: made from fabric in the Dwell Studio Home line at Joann's.  having made mack's crib bedding too, I knew what to/not to do this time around.  It was MUCH easier.  I didn't even consider burning the project.  not even once.

the dresser: my childhood dresser refinished.  HUGE shout out to my mom and dad for toting it down from Utah, and helping me fix it up.  best. parents. ever.
an apothecary jar for binkies is a must, obviously.

handmade plushies.

love the swivel mirror and detail of the top...

old picture frames sitting in storage with a new coat of spray paint=no cost decor.

another handmade plushie.  mack's exact words: "that owl looks straaaaange."  no fooling him.

the artwork: photoshop projects.  the aqua balloon print is my favorite.  :)

thrifted chandelier.  one of my favorite touches.

his blankie made by mommy.  when I gave it to him in the hospital, I explained to mack that this is grey's special blankie.  he promptly picked it up and began rubbing the blankie on grey's nose, just like he does with his own blankie whenever it's in his hands.  he's already showing him the ropes.  :)

and there you have it.  I've made a few more little touches, and I'm in the dregs of a project that has officially become the bain of my existance.  we'll see if it ever actually ends up on a wall in the room.  but for now, this is his little spot.

check out the before and after:

...and the most important before and after of all:
the little one.  he's a little piece of heaven.  :)

Absolutely beautiful! I've been looking forward to this post :). I can tell you put your heart and soul into it--and I can tell that you must, therefore, have a beautiful heart and soul. So glad you now have a healthy little baby to put in it too! Good luck during the next few months--I'm loving my little 4-month-old, but life is awfully exhausting these days...

I can see why you waited. This nursery needs it's own blog. You are gifted. I love everything about it. Love the colors, love the bedding, love the dresser, love the handmade plushies. Grey is a lucky guy. Can I hire you to decorate every room in my house please? Thanks.

But the thing I love the most is your smile when you're hugging your little angel :) these two photos are so touchable that it nearly makes me cry.
I'll follow your blog od course, I just love it <3

My favorite part is definitely the chandelier. So fun.
